What a ridiculous ****ing statement. Fans talking about PPV numbers in boxing is no different than basketball fans talking about the number of points, rebounds that Kobe Bryant and Lebron James average or the number of championship rings they have when discussing who is the better player. It is no different that comparing the stats of your favorite hockey, soccer or football players when debating who is better.

The Pac fans on this site have no problem talking about the fact that Pac beat Oscar and Hatton in a more spectacular fashion than Mayweather did. They have no problem talking about the number of divisions in which Pac has won championships (seven) compared to Mayweater (five). They have no problem talking about the "caliber" of opponent that Pac has defeated compared to the "caliber" of opponent that Mayweather has defeated. When Pac beat Cotto, they didn't have a problem talking about/comparing PPV numbers between Pac and Mayweather.

If the Mayweather/Mosley fight unexpectedly does less than 1.2 million, the clowns on this site will post 100 threads talking about how lousy the numbers are and how Mayweather is not a draw. However, since Mayweather is clearly the PPV king and will reinforce that title against Mosley, all of a sudden PPV numbers don't mean anything and shouldn't be discussed. Bull****!

lol, dealing with you and brady boy in the same day.

      A short bus drivers dream.

This ****ing moron is trying to lump basketball stats and PPVs as equal talking points,

      just because they're numbers.

The unintentional comedy is what keeps me here.

PPV numbers are stats just like points and rebounds and goals per game, etc. If you can't see that, you are a real dumbass.

I take that back. You are a dumbass whether you can see that or not!

PPV numbers decide the outcome of a fight?

          Sorry skittlenuts,

they are not stats in regards to the outcome of a fight.

Points, assists, rebounds, blocks, etc, are.

The analogy of basketball stats and ppv ends on the fact that they are just numbers.

IMO, if you want a better analogy,
              Basketball stats -- Compubox statistics
TV ratings with commercials -- PPV numbers

I think Stern always talk about TV ratings like Floyd talks about PPV.
