Floyd Mayweather: Most Racially Divisive Fighter in Boxing?

IMO Wlad Klitchko is the most racially divisive figther. There is not a black person alive who even respects him and there are many white people who think he might be one of the best HW's of all time.

I agree with you in that it is not entirely a racial thing or as dramatic as a "Jack Johnson" but there is some racial undertones especially in the names you see "anonymous" people on the internet call him. Compare this to other athletes in the sport of boxing who come off as pricks, brag as much or even trash talk more and are more disrespectful e.g Froch, Mayorga and the backlash is different. Now i'm not saying that he doesn't call it upon himself or its all racial but theres some truth to it.

Yeah but that is underlying racism as a whole. Floyd does not garner extra racism. There are many closet racists online using the n word everywhere you go. I will not even read Youtube comments because of it. If the real world was half as nasty as the online world, I would not want to live in it.

Floyd is just Floyd. When I first saw the chicken bucket with Floyd's name on it, It never crossed my mind that it was racism. If you look deeper though, it looks like someone could have correlated his skin color with that old stereotype of how black people supposedly love friend chicken (last I checked everyone liked friend chicken), but I automatically alluded it to some just calling him a chicken for avoiding Pacquiao. That picture can be interpreted both ways. Now I always look for the good in people and may automatically assume it was done in a friendly ribbing type of way, but these days and the internet the way it is, you never know.

It is not a racial issue at all with Floyd. Floyd has his own fan base and it is not exclusive to the black population.

Floyd is either loved or hated. Many Black people find him caustic just like many Mexicans, Whites and Filipinos do. It has everything to do with personality and nothing to do with Skin Color or Ethnic Background.

As for me. One week I can hate him and the next week I like him again. I am very happy he is fighting someone he will need to respect in the ring. That for me at least went a long way to earning my respect back.

You have a point in that he doesn't get the respect he deserves, but i don't think its just black people who don't respect him, its just the boxing community as a whole. Also even though he doesn't get the respect in the ring that he might deserve you don't see people going around calling him racially degrading names like they do with Floyd. It's one thing not to like or respect a boxer or athletes accomplishments in their particular sport but its another issue when racial slurs, pictures, insinuations are used/shown in every other sentence to display this dislike.

I disagree with you on the part about extra racism being that like i said Floyd isn't the only loud mouth, prick, braggadocios, controversial boxer e.g Pauli Malignaggi, Mayorga, Froch however no matter how much you see people disliking them, the racial insults is not there as with Floyd.

Precisely, there are certain connotations that are just blatant when trying to insult a certain race. I remember when ***** was elected and the Tea party used food stamps with his face on it surrounded by watermelons and fried chicken to depict that, that would be the closet he would get to getting his face on the U.S currency. I've seen pics with Floyd's face on a live chicken which was hilarious as hell to me but the one with him on the KFC box is definitely a racial insult.

Thats a good quality to have, not many people have that quality about them.

Definitely can respect, it takes a strong unbiased person to be able to look past his flaws and appreciate his genius in the ring. I don't think that its only other races who hates Floyd, there are a lot of blacks who don't like him and rightfully so. The thing that i have a problem with is when people go overboard with the racially insulting comments, pics etc towards anyone of any race and i do think he catches a lot of it compared to other boxers who currently do the same as he does.
