When the Klitschkos retire, the HW division will REALLY be poor

Between the Lewis reign and the Klitschko's holding the belts, people complained that there was no unified champ and that someone needed to clean up the mess. The K Bros clean out the division, and people complain that it's boring that no one can challenge them.Comment

He's admitting they're that far ahead of the current crop.
That isn't tantamount to saying they couldn't hang with the best of past eras.Comment

I'm not saying that they can't.
But by making a statement that the division is full of "frauds", blown up lhw's and otherwise crappy fighters he's fueling the notion that they're only good because the division is relatively weak by comparison.
I don't agree with it. I just think he's putting his foot in his mouth on this one.Comment

Unless smaller guys with more speed move up or get into HW boxing, the division is doomed to duller fights.Comment

Ahh, people will interpret things how they want however clearly he qualifies his position. He's basically being honest.I'm not saying that they can't.

Damn shame about Valero. The man had so much going for him. Great family, career right on the cusp of rewarding 8 years and more of hard work . . . tragic that he couldn't hold it together.
The DeMarco fight had turned so many heads and won many new fans, too. Hideous waste.Comment

There's a few decent boxers in the heavyweight division, but the only bona-fide, world-class fighters are Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko.
Tomasz Adamek is very good, but he's not a real heavyweight, he's a blown-up cruiserweight. Alexander Povetkin is just an amateurish volume puncher. Denis Boytsov and Eddie Chambers are decent, but really too small for the division and should be cruiserweights. David Haye is nothing but a loud-mouthed fraud.
The Klitschkos are keeping the heavyweight division alive. When they retire, it will REALLY suck.
Nothing = Nothing.....no matter how you spin it.....I don't see any difference Klits or no Klits the HW Div is in shambles

That ISN'T what I said, idiot. You're reading comprehension is poor.I'm not saying that they can't.

There ARE some decent fighters in the division, but the only two real bona-fide, top-notch, GREAT heavyweights are the Klitschkos. That being said, the division in better than the 1980s.
Chambers, Boytsov, Chagaev and Adamek are all very good boxers, the problem is they are CRUISERWEIGHT size, not true modern HWs.
The only highly athletic big men are the Klitschkos. Other big guys like Michael Grant, Tye Fields, Julius Long, Tyson Fury, Alexander Ustinov, Nicolay Valuev, Marcellus Brown, Ray Austin, etc are not even close to the Klitschkos' talent and athleticism.
The Klitschkos would be champions in ANY era.
Joe Louis struggled against a little middleweight Billy Conn in their first fight (Conn was ahead on two cards after 12 rounds) - he would be beaten down by Wladimir or Vitali. They would dominate smaller HWs like Dempsey, Frazier, Tyson, and Marciano.Comment
