I think its an excellent and legitimate take, he may not be right and it may not work out that way, but he shouldn't be shi tted on for his educated opinion. I agree with him by the way, but I can see the fight playing out differently as well.

Doug makes a great point about Margarito-Mosley. Margs fares best against aggressive fighters, boxer punches and brawlers. Many people on this site have said they see Shane as a brawler or comeforward pressure fighter, which would make him TAILOR MADE FOR MARGS!!!!!

I guarantee you that 90% of you who are shi tting on shanes win vs margs weren't saying how margs is tailor made for shane before the fight.

I understand that floyd isn't willing to mix it up(physically) like a Miguel Cotto would at this point, but Dougie should have brought that up as well. Him not mentioning Cotto makes me believe he thought it would detract from his main point(Winky and Vernon being lengthy boxers with strong physical presences)
he was answering a specific question that's why he left cotto out. he was answering a writer that specifically brought up those two fighters

        snootz,

it's an informed initial post from the TS, doug write that as a response to a mailbag guest who wrote this:

There is a blue print for beating Mosley. There isn’t one for beating Money. I am surprised that someone with your boxing acumen doesn’t see that.

You remember what Vernon Forest did to Mosley? You will see a repeat of this, probably sans knockdowns. Mosley dominates fighters that stand in front of him, which is something Floyd won’t do for any extended period of time. The one rangy, disciplined fighter he did fight (Forest) he got dominated, twice. Winky was more defensive than rangy, but just as disciplined and he dominated Mosley, twice. Mosley never made adjustments in either fight and was dominated in the same fashion.

Nazzim Richardson is the wild card, but I don’t think that you can teach an old dog new tricks. Mosley is what he is, a very good fighter who isn’t quite elite against a certain disciplined style that his conquerors possessed, as does Floyd. The fight will be interest ing, but too much MONEY is always a good thing. -- Wiley

This is pretty terrible.. Floyd vs Winky at 154 would have been very competitive. Floyd wouldnt be a sitting duck right in front of Winky all squared up. Im not saying Floyd would have won but it would have been more competitive.

Why is everyone magically forgetting Cotto boxed Mosleys ears off in a good fight? Floyd cant pot shot Shane, like Cotto did in the last 4 or 5 rounds?
            Be serious...

SOOOO, Shane lost four different ways?

Forrest - jab and rt hand power
Winky - southpaw jab and defense
Cotto - boxer/puncher; late round counterpuncher
                Delahoya* - toe-to-toe slugout

Is that a vindication of Shane?...or an indictment?

Then again Cotto is 5'7 with a 67 reach. Mayweather is 5'8 with a 72 reach. Although Cotto is bigger then Floyd.
