He would KO Martinez in that form. I dont know what happened to him after the Bhop fights, he had three title defences, but they were all against fighters who were just or had recently moved up from 154, and all three went the distance. The version of Taylor leading up to his middleweight title fight would have crushed Oama and Spinks, and maybe even Winky. That prime Taylor would smash Martinez as well.
    I agree..............

    I miss Taylor.

A prime Taylor would've beat Martinez. He had a nice jab, good power and his stamina was ok, not like when he used to fade late. They have the same problem: they take rds off and it would've been interesting to watch these two in a close fight.

Taylor was too big and stong. His boxing skills are also better, and Martinez doesn't have the power to stop the pre Hopkins Taylor with his soul in tact.

Worse case scenario is Taylor takes 6 of the first 7 and drops 3 of the last 4 for 7-5. I also would expect Martinez to be dropped in this fight.

Taylor by decision. His inconsistency scares me, but I would take him.

I'd have to agree, but I don't think he stops Martinez. Taylor by decision.

The thing about Taylor is that he is an extremely good boxer. Even in his loses you could see that. The only problem, however, was his suspect chin. Guys like B-hop, Winky, Spinks and others didn't have the power to either make him tenative or put him away.

The question now becomes, can Martinez power bother Taylor? I don't think so and this is why If I had to chose, I would pick Taylor as he is more technically sound, pretty athletic and just a better overall boxer. This one would be close though because Martinez is pretty fast (hand and foot speed) but I feel Taylor skills helps him edge this one out in a 7 rounds to 5 type decision.

Honestly Taylor is not stopping Martinez. That is kinda absurd for obvious reasons.

Martinez is not iron chinned tho. Taylor has dropped the likes of Froch and Pavlik, Froch with a single shot, and if it happens early he could very possibly finish off the smaller weaker Martinez, who looks like he isn't a survivor from the last time he was in serious trouble against Margarito.
