    Doesn't make sense

Tyson had his biggest wins after Cus D'Amato died. He was just as good after Cus's death as he was before, he has also been beaten several times after Cus died. There is no logic to the claim that he was unbeatable.

The guy died. He didn't take away "Jedi powers" he gave to Mike when he died. It's skills you learn and have to keep sharp. Cus got him skills and Rooney keep him as sharp and focus as long as he could. Whatever you learning in the ring doesn't magical disappears, it slowly erodes and tht what happen to mikey....

The fact is no one could control or focus Tyson and tell him what do after a while, maybe not even Cus if he was alived. Fame and fortune is not for everyone. Cus personally could have never handled it himself.
Cus was a looney too and no one could tell him what to do.

Yeah, Tyson had Rooney for a little bit, and then he fired him. Rooney didn't die, and Tyson never rehired him. And Tyson has never said firing Rooney was a mistake. I'm not going to get into this conversation too much, since I already gave my opinions in the "Who's better Tyson or Holyfield" discussion, but it continues to amaze me the type of things people will say to keep the Tyson myth going.

Plain and simple: Tyson was not nearly as good as he looked. He was a great physical specimen who could absolutely demolish good opposition, but he never had the ability to win a match in which he had to overcome adversity. This is why at no time in Tyson's career could he win against one of the top 15 heavyweights of all time. Not when he was 18, 20, 25, or whatever age, and not when he had Cus, Rooney, or anyone else in his corner.
