Faded Tszyu?? he was considered unbeatable until Hatton got in the ring with him.

Hatton's the only champion who won the belt by beating a champ, all the other fighters are paper champs because they faced hand picked opponents in a title match. Hurtardo, Branco and Pinto are B level opponents, i'd go as far as to say Branco isnt even B level. Winning a belt that way is OK as long as you defend it against an elite fighter and the only person who's going to do that in the near future is Gatti.

Hatton is the king at 140, there's no doubt about that, the only question is can he successfully defend against the all the other brilliant fighters at the weight.

i'm gonna hve to say hatton just cause he beat zoo and zoo was the only guy at 140 to have several big wins in the division... floyd hasn't really beaten anyone yet at 140, neither really has gatti, harris beat urkal and hurtado, cotto beat abby...

Hatton beat him, that makes him for sure the king of 140 lbs until somebody beats him.

Until somebody beats Hatton he is number I at 140 pounds. Hatton is the linear Champion. Everybody else in the division that has belts has them because Tzyu vacated them.
I have to agree, to be the man, you have to beat the man. Hatton beat Tzyu, he is now the man.

          hmm

Gattin beat Dorin easily and Dorin wasn't shot. If anything Dorin was rusty, but well rusted and not shot. Basically, if Gatti was shot, he would have looked it already, and he has not. He's past his prime, but not shot. No evidence to support that. If he loses to Floyd it's cuz Floyd is better, not cuz he's shot.

Anyway, Hatton is the king of 140 until he is beaten, plain and simple. Hatton would tear Cotto a new ******* in my opinion, but it would be a great fight until Cotto is TKO'd.

Why do you think Gayweather is so invinciable? He already lost to Castillo and got a gift descision. And in my opinion Gatti is better than Castillo.

Gatti is better than Jose Luis Castillo ?

That is some bull**** right there. Arturo Gatti has spent his career avoiding guys like Castillo !
His fight with Floyd is the only time ( except for the Oscar fight....& my mother would fight Oscar- knowing the $$$ to be made)Arturo Gatti has ever stepped up.

Castillo does NOTHING BUT step up !

You match them at 135, & Gatti would take a career ending beating.

I dunno if he will be... I think he's too small for 140lbs and he's playing with the big boys now.

If Hatton was able to walk through Tszyu's best shots, then there is no doubt at all he'll walk through anything Mayweather can throw at him.

He'll get close to Mayweather and Hammer the body! And Hatton will throw Mayweather around the ring like a rag doll in a clinch.

I just can't see Mayweather winning a fight against Hatton.

Don't get me wrong, I think Mayweather is probably the most skillfull boxer out there at the moment... But he's not gonna be able to handle a young, hungry, strong, fully loaded 140lber the way he's dealt with 130lbs/135lbs fighters before.

Beating an shop worn fighter like Gatti is one thing... But beating a 26yr old Champion like Hatton is quite another.
