Bowe vs Holyfield 1. I liked boxing before that but that 1 round with them 2 standing toe to toe and just punishing each other hooked me.

There is not one distinct fight, but watching Mike Tyson as a kid made me fall in love with boxing.

The first fight I can clearly remember watching live was the tyson ear chomping number as well as early Prince Naseem fights but it wasn't until Hatton - Kostya Tszyu fight that I really became a crazy boxing fan. Something just clicked. I'd always considered football(soccer) my number one sport (season ticket holder; Dundee FC) but now I couldn't pick. (thats not because my team are **** by the way!)

I rekon it's something primal with boxing, with no longer going out fighting in pubs and clubs anymore I get my fix with watching the sport. For me boxing has is an artform because other combat sports don't even come close.

Gatti vs. Ward 1. I was just in awe the whole fight and have been hooked ever since.

As a Mexican-American, living in CA, always watched the Chavez fights as a kid and I remember being in the living room in 1999 and everybody in my family yelling "so le robadon" (they robbed him) after Trinidad beat Oscar De La Hoya. I also remember being in Rosarito MX and my parents leaving to go watch JCC-Oscar II and asking them who was gonna win and they said JCC was old. Being Chicano, I only watched Oscar fights and anything that pertained to him. I knew about Tyson biting people's ears off, but that was as far as I knew in boxing. That all changed when in 2006 my uncle offered me to accompany him to go to vegas to go see an oscar de la hoya fight. he didnt know boxing much, but when I was in that arena, watching all the oscar fans go crazy, waiting to see that fight - I was hooked. I didn't know the politics, nor that Oscar hadn't fought in almost two years or that Mayorga wasn't even that good of a boxer to begin with. But ODLH won, I kept hearing the name Mayweather, didn't what they were talking about. When I got home got on a website i never heard called boxrec.com and the rest is history as they say. but if i could be real, Mayweather-DLH 24/7 really transcended me into a "casual fan" to "an aficonado" who began to know about the sport, know more about the Mexican boxing legacy beyond Chavez and DLH, and also that Mike Tyson was shot when he fought Lewis in 02 (gimmie a break I didnt know any better haha). I thank 24/7 and always urge people to watch it or FC 360, those shows give people more of a deeper look into what boxing is composed of, also I think everyone should witness a fight live because you see what yourself what the sport is about and you learn whether boxing is your thing.
