Froch really didn't go to the body as much as Kessler, and by Froch's own admission the Body shots were the ones that were slowing him down and really hurting him. The body work IMO was the most effective work done by Kessler early. Froch was throwing single shots to the body and he was focusing on making sure Kesslers right hand was falling short which Kessler adjusted to and started looping his punches more.
In those early rounds, there were very few head shots thrown by Kessler in comparison to the combinations to the body which didn't land as flush as say the right hand Kessler landed in the 8th round that staggered Froch but it was just as effective and Kessler did do the better work to the body. In the rounds where very little happened (1-2-3) the judges may have looked at the body work as a factor.
