round 2 - kessler - backed froch even more, landed 3 solid straight right hands to froch's body in the first minute, ate some jabs but landed some of his own again on the more snappy delivered on the front foot, lands a solid left hook to the body in the last 30 seconds, threw a couple of 3-4 punch combinations which didn't land too clean but did enough to win the round.
round 3 - kessler - very hard round to score, froch out-jabs kessler for the 30 seconds, kessler answers back with some more hard straight rights to the body the last of which causes froch to clearly wince and back pedal, froch answers back with a left hook right hand combo, best punches in the round. The last minute kessler does well with his jab sticks froch and uses his feet to avoid counters and lands another good 1-2 to the body. Could have gone either way but kessler clearly landed more and the 1-2 by froch was not enough to steal it.
round 4 - froch - kessler walks out and rips froch with another straight right to the body. Froch throwing a lot of jabs but kessler's head movement and defense is better in this round and making him miss. Froch lands a good counter right followed by another huge right hand, best punch of the fight up to that point. Kessler answers with some decent body work but froch does well with the jab and wins the round of the 2 right hands, but again very close round.
round 5 - froch - not really disputable
round 6-8 think everyone agrees kessler rounds
round 9 - first minute both exchanging jabs, froch's jab is a little lazy. Kessler backs froch onto the ropes side steps and hits him with a right left combination to head and body, froch misses with a wild left hook backs up to the ropes and kessler lands a thudding left hook to the body. Froch throws a 4 punch combo which commentators go crazy over but only one punch actually landed kessler goes back to the left right to the body and lands it another 2 or 3 times before the end of the round. Kessler lands a right hand similar to the one which buckled froch in the 8th, this time froch answers with a left uppercut/hook. Kessler answers with yet another straight right to the body and throws a left uppercut behind it this time which lands. Froch tries to steal the round in the last 20 seconds with scrappy work, lands a couple but not enough. Commentators got this round badly wrong watch it with no sound and you'l see how ineffective froch's work in the last 30 seconds is.
Round 10 - froch round for me pulls away in the last minute close but clear.
Round 11 - froch - really close round kessler does well in the first minute, froch evens it out with a huge right hand in the middle of the round, kessler answers with a big right of his own, think froch steals it by showing real heart in the last 30 seconds getting the better of the exchanges.
round 12 - both missing with wild tired looking punches, kessler lands the first decent combination of the round doubling up the left jab and landing a glancing right, froch lands some good jabs, kessler lands his trusty right to the body, kessler lands a looping left hook and comes in and lands a 1-2 and avoids the counter using his feet, froch tries to grab kessler around the head and hit him with his free hand and misses... they clinch. Froch goes after kessler lands a jab and misses the following right, they exchange punches nothing clean, froch lands a left hook on the inside. They exchange big left hooks twice froch's do more damage yet its kessler that pushes forward, lands a big right on froch who is up against the ropes but does well to slip kesslers follow up attack. They exchange more punches both landing clean, kessler this time gets backed up to the ropes and they clinch with 30 seconds left. Froch initiates another attack lands a 2 headshots and a body shot kessler clinches. Kessler pushes froch back lands a right hand and a couple of left hooks to punctuate the end of the fight. Kessler although seemed to be the more tired fighter threw more punches and landed more punches close but clearly a kessler round for me...he wanted it more
Watched the fight whilst on my lap top, and watched inconclusive parts in slow motion.
kessler: 1,2,3,6,7,8,12
Froch: 4,5,10,11
Could call 9 and 1 even and 3 and 12 were debatable
