Tarver had a rematch clause which he exercised. Not only that, why would anyone choose to fight Cloud over Tarver when Cloud himself has done nothing to further his marketability or career. His latest "injury" further proves my point as AGAIN he has continued to be inactive pulling out of the Johnson fight. Dawson would not be where he is at right now if he would have gone the route you criticize him for.

Fact of the matter, Johnson, Tarver, Adamek, Pascal are generally considered the bigger and BETTER names in the LHW division and Dawson has handled, WILL handle them accordingly. Your opinion is misguided due to personal issues you may have with Dawson.

If Dawson fought Diaconu in March 2008 instead of Glen Johnson, Dawson would still have his WBC belt, but what happened? He went through all that nonsense with Johnson and Tarver.

I hope he fights the dude too. I was always pro-Johnson in that fight even though I would've liked to see a Dawson-Cloud fight somewhere down the line, but Tavoris has lost a lot of points in my book. I never thought he was hurt. Now I'm totally rooting for Johnson to win that fight.

Yeah Dawson/Cloud would be a much bigger fight and would silence the critics. I think the only reason why Dawson is this inactive ( having the longest inactive period in his career) is because he was waiting on the Pascal fight( who is young and credible). Dawson doesn't have that many options, so Cloud ( if he beats Glen) would have to be next. Its what the fans wants to see.

I do think he should have had a tune up though, he should be more active especially since hes this young.

Diaconu was a live threat and it seemed like Dawson ducked Diaconu actually. If Johnson and Tarver are highly credible as you say they are, then why is everyone complaining that Dawson is wasting his time fighting 40 year old boxers? This isn't about Tarver and Johnson having a better resume then Diacou dumb ass, it's about Dawson ducking Diaconu.

Both Tarver and Hopkins said that Dawson should respect WBC rules and fight Diaconu in the summer of 2008. Even Tarver encouraged Dawson to do that.
