Letting pride run your life tends to be ruinous as it leads to thinking you are above reproach and you can do no wrong. It leads to making obvious mistakes because you do not think it will matter or that you can do whatever you want.

To me this whole situation Manny's pride got the best of him and he made a mistake, if he swallowed this pride this situation would be a dead issue but instead it lingers on because of his actions.
