  • If you look at the past "Fighter of the Decade" awards its glaring what they all have in common, and just painfully obvious why Floyd isn't.

All the past award recipients fought 5, 10, 15+ HOF fights in their careers. Sugar Ray Robinson, Ali, Roy Jones, Leonard, etc, etc. In the decade they were selected, they fought several HOF bouts, and won almost all of them or all of them.

Those people desperately arguing Floyds case are completely out of touch. This isn't hard. This is like 2+2=4 obvious and you are simply hugging on your mans balls.

I for one, would have liked to see Manny lose to Erik Morales who I love. Or Cotto who I also like a lot. I'm not down giving him a hob nob like some other people around here seem to feel the need to do for their favorite boxer.

No unexpected. I hope Pacquiao realizes he's being used as a tool though, not sure he does.

If Diego Corrales makes it then I don't see why Oscar Larios couldn't.

Larios has a better resume than Corrales.

"Honestly as talented as Pac is, I could defiantly see him beating whitaker and duran. I could also see both beating Pac because all three are not only talented but beatable.

"If Jose Luis Ramirez (who Pac is way more talented than) can beat a prime Whitaker, why can't Pacquiao. Same with Duran. I feel Manny is more talented that Kirklang Lang and Lang beat a prime Duran.

And everybody knows Whitaker beat Ramirez winning at the least 10 out of 12rounds. This shows what kind of boxing fan and poster you truly are.
That last part about Whitaker and Ramirez was just b.s which I admitted in that thread. Again I said I was joking about that, but It's funny you didnt post that quote.

Also how was Duran past his prime when he fought Lang. His only losses were to Leonard and Benetiz, which is no shame in that. Also he was only 32 years old. I just don't see how you got that he was "old and past his prime".

I noticed you didn't respond to anything I said.

I'm a huge Diego Corrales fan. But sorry, Diego was completely unpolished compared to PBF.

Diego isn't even a HOF fighter. I say that loving the man, his style of boxing, and for giving us simply one of the greatest rounds ever in the history of the sport. (Seriously, who gets knocked down 2X and gets up and TKOs the other guy!)

Prime Diego is not anywhere close to Cotto. Not even close. Cotto came back and proved he wasn't shot by beating Clottey. You know, Clottey the only guy to even survive the Pacman storm in the last few years.

Who's comparing educations on an online Forum......

            FAAAAAAAAAAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Cotto is done? Funny, Ring Magazine has him #7 P4P. He'd be in my top 10 as well except for he hasn't fought since his loss. Aside from losing to Manny, who hasn't he been in with and tested by?

He was beating Marg easy until later in the fight, and we all know exactly why. Didn't seem to have any trouble beating Shane mosely or Zab Judah. A guy Floyd defenders love to count as a "Good win against a great fighter."

            Give me a break.

Manny = 8 HOF fights in 5 years.
Floyd = 2 HOF fights in entire career.

This is not even an argument about who fighter of the decade was. That's called being objective, SON.
Probably because I wasn't talking to you. And all of that bull**** you just posted has nothing to do with what I posted. I never said Cotto was "done". I said he was past his best days. Even Freddie Roach acknowledged that. Put the Pacquiao pom pom's down and look objectively before you start preaching about objectivity. And my post had nothing to do with "fighter of the decade". The sad part is that you took time to do it. And if you don't think Diego Corrales belongs in the HOF you better check a lot of the fighters in there, son. Saying Corrales doesn't belong is ignorant on your part.

Were you joking before or after you got called out on it? And if you don't understand how Duran was past his prime when he fought kirkland laing you are truly lost when it comes to boxing knowledge. I'm not going to explain that one to you. Apparently you haven't been following the sport long enough to know the difference. Do you even realize that Duran was once the undisputed lightweight champion? And possibly the best in history at that weight? Do you know what his weight was when he fought Laing? Unless you're "joking" which I hope you are for your benefit.

Oh really? That's interesting. Who did Larios EVER beat on the level of Castillo, Casamayor or Freitas? I won't even get into numerous top fighters like Manfredy and Gainer who Corrales knocked out. I'll wait for your answer. And if you're using this to somehow make Manny's resume look even better, Larios was coming off a TKO loss previous to his fight with Pacquiao.

how is a 32 year old 74-2 fighter past his prime esp. since one lost came against arguable of the the greatest WW of all-time and another against the greatest 154lbs of all time? Also if he was past it then why was Haglar vs Duran and Hearnes vs Duran considered mega fights during that time. Also no past his prime fighter destroy Cuevas and wins the JMW title from Davey Moore? I'm not trying to flame but Lang beating Duran was considered upset of the year for a reason. If Duran was considered done..that fight would have never gotten that award.
