Smart on Mosley's part. Sucks in a sense because Mayweather would have a belt to hold over Pacs head. Then again Pacs not interested in a technically GREAT fighter in a ring, only in court. People wonder why MMA is killing boxing...
To CLEAN fights...
Mayweather vs Pac in September.. The date Team Pac should be prepared for a fighter like Mayweather......
Back to Mosley.... Why a rematch clause if the belt is not at stake and sense when did Mayweather not want a WW belt? I know he's all about the money, reason HE WANTED to fight Pac but why not want a belt too? O well who cares lets just see a great fight.Last edited by WESS; 04-20-2010, 05:12 PM.

Makes no sense. You fight the guy and win his belt and then you either retire or defend the belt. Maybe Floyd doesn't want to defend against any of the younger hungry guys coming up. I know he would have the name under his belt but if he is so rich then the sanctioning fees should be minescule.
If Floyd loses, he has a rematch clause. Why fight the guy again if there is nothing at stake? Mosley is the WW champ......the champ has the belt.....might as well be a catchweight......maybe Floyd is coming in heavy again to gain an advantage over Mosley....which means the belt would not be at stake anyways
Either way, seems odd to me.

i love how idiots say he doesn't respect his craft b/c he's not interested in this being a "title" fight.....
i forgot where i heard it, but shane made a reference as to him being the champion, and floyd replied, "after i whoop your ass, you can keep your belt."

Beat a welterweight champion at welterweight and he keeps his belt.
He's ammune.
Great.
So what's the point in a champion again, if at times he can be ammune even being defeated? Heck just let him lose a few times and keep the belt, what the hell.
