thats what i was thinking, i just checked the rankings. I'm no fan of Floyd, but he doesnt need the belt, and the belt will make no difference what so ever to him.

fighters will want to fight him cos he's floyd. Floyd will still get the lions share of the purse (except maybe against pac, and the WBA belt will make no difference to those talks), anyone who beats Floyd wont need a belt to get fights as they will be wanted by everyone, and if Pac v May happens there's gonna be a dman site more at stake than the WBA belt.

It would have been great if that was his reason........but his reason is he's too broke to pay anybody anything.

if floyd wins will he be the lineal champ?

The WBA is the most slimiest money grabbing sanctioning body making all the these new useless belts. It gives me the chills just thinking of the WBA receiving that much money.
if this ppv does over 2 million floyd will probably make around 40+ million... oscar made 50 million off of his fight with floyd

This is quite right. Mayweather got a few fights left in him, lets not waste it on green up and comers.

surely he could win the belt and use it as bargaining for a unification fight with pac or berto even?, sure he wont be forced to defend it agianst some bum straight away when the fight everyone would want should he win would be pacman vs floyd?

surely floyd would want to claim himself the top no 1 guy with a belt to his victory?.

paul would of never gotten his fight with margacheato if it wasn't for the mandatory... I like the mandatorys... lets up and coming fighters get their chance to prove themselves
