Okay first of all, let me clear this up, I used the wrong word, my bad. I shouldn't have said avoided. What I ment was, that he didn't fight Dawson and that might be because he wanted to have his last fight against Roy Jones Jr. You can't say for certain that he ducked Dawson, that's a guess. Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong. Stating something different is pure opinion. But I see one of the reasons why he chose not to fight both Pavlik and Dawson, one of them being that both fighters were pretty green and he might realize that if he beat one of them bigtime like he did with Lacy, people still wouldn't credit him.Comment

Did you ever think about the purse not being big enough? The respect he would get for making a "Lacy" one more time would not be worth it? Some americans write fighters off so quick, EVERY american on BS, thought Lacy would win. When he won, Lacy was a bum.Comment

When did he say that? Source please.

And yes, I thought about his purse, which was peanuts against Jones. And if he thought people would write off the Dawson win (as if Dawson and Lacy are even remotely comparable), what did he think they were going to do when he fought a shot has-been?Comment

He said that in his autobiography.

Nah he got pretty big money for fighting Jones, you must be dazed. A lot more money than he would get for fighting Dawson. He said before the Jones fight that it might be his last, and he just wanted to check in before checking out.Comment

According to some of my top contacts in the UK, one of the bigger rumors floating around involves a possible Joe Calzaghe (46-0, 32KOs) ring return. Calzaghe retired in early 2009, and since then he's been battered in the press over his wild post-retirement lifestyle, which includes recreational use of *******. [Click Here To Read More]Comment
