Okay first of all, let me clear this up, I used the wrong word, my bad. I shouldn't have said avoided. What I ment was, that he didn't fight Dawson and that might be because he wanted to have his last fight against Roy Jones Jr. You can't say for certain that he ducked Dawson, that's a guess. But I see one of the reasons why he chose not to fight both Pavlik and Dawson, one of them being that both fighters were pretty green and he might realize that if he beat one of them bigtime like he did with Lacy, people still wouldn't credit him.

If the head of a promotional company is Calzaghe, one of the most protected fighters ever, even to Euro standards, what would he expect his company to be like? He wasn't a big star then. IF he's about to return and want to get the business going, he should take a fight in the US against the super 6 winner or chad dawson. I think Chad Dawson is beatable for Calzaghe and he'd get a belt. Then defend it once, not much to ask for and retire for good. Every great fighter manages a comeback at least.
