Pretty much all the smart Floyd fans think JMM did tag him, even Burner thinks so.

Floyd still out-skilled Marquez though. Marquez looked the most distressed he has ever looked in his career. Marquez just looked like nothing he could do even mattered. He didn't even look that way when he faught Pacquiao.
Floyd won it in the weighing scale, floyd came in at his comfortable weight of 146lbs while juan was a slow and fat 144lbs old fighter..

JMM was small at lightweight. He moved up and fought a full blown WW who couldn't even make 144.

        It was indeed a mismatch.

I think there are many fighters at WW who would knock out JMM, and a couple like Cotto, Mosley, Clottey, Pac, who would probably not even lose a round.

Floyd outskilled Marquez but his size helped him do it.

i gotta agree. you can't say the weight didn't help floyd, because it didn't hurt him. also you can't say that floyd outright just outskilled him because of the weight and size factor involved. it wasn't a fair fight.

The weight had nothing to do with it....

Pavlik outweighed Martinez by more than 11 pounds...

Martinez OUTSKILLED him for the win...

WTF. Mayweather beat JMM in badly. The only thing that JMM did that impressed me is last the 12 rounds. I was there ringside and it wasn't even close. After 4 rounds it wasn't a matter of who will win the fight but a matter of does Floyd have the balls to knock him out.

you can't say that the weight didn't help mayweather. the only way you can say it didn't help is if floyd actually made 144 lbs. personally I don't see floyd losing to marquez even if he went down to 144 lbs, but we don't know that for certain. that's all I'm saying. So I can't give floyd's skills full credit for beating jmm because the weight was a factor.

yeah, but what if the fight was fair. what if floyd was forced to burn off the remaining lbs. I'm not saying floyd would've lost, I'm just saying that maybe jmm would've been more competitive. but we'll never know because floyd cheated.

The only problem with it though is when has Marquez ever been known for offense???
                      Wtf ??

If Marquez is known for anything it is his offense.

His ability to put a a wide range of punches together is a beauty to watch. Only few in the sport can do what he does when putting punches together.

Marquez's defense isn't all that good, his offense is his defense really.

Regarding this thread, Mayweather outskilled Marquez although he had every advantage you could imagine in his favor (size, speed, defense, power, etc.)
