Its the going thing at the moment.

There were a couple of idiots in here the other day trying to tell me Sal and Valero had comparable careers.

      Pack of morons.

      Sal beat GREAT fighters.

Who did Valero beat? ***n DeMarco? Wow, he knocked out a whole pack of bums in the first round, big deal.

Talk about Valero's potential all you like, and yes he did have the potential to be great, but to compare him with a fighter that achieved what Sanchez did is just plain mad.
The truth is Sanchez never reached his potential due to his early death. (claim to fame wins over rookie NELSON 15 rds., overweight GOMEZ., and 2 wins over cream puff Lil' Red Lopez) Valero was UNDEFEATED, KO'D his first 17 opponants, won a WBC lightweight Championship, while fighting a drug addiction. So neither stood around long enough to claim TRUE GREATNESS!!!!

You're joking right? Sanchez is Great. Valero is nothing and will be forgotten by history. Just a contender.

With that said, this is a boxing site & Valero was a rising star in the sport. how great do you guys think Valero could have been? What is his upside had this tragedy never happened?

Does he have a Manny Pacquiao like career? I know his last fight vs demarco, showtime commentators were making comparisons to Pacquiao.

What do you guys think his boxing plateau would have been? Is he the next Pacquiao? Or is he along the lines of Diego Corrales & Acelino Freitas? Murderous power punchers with very good boxing career but slightly below Hall of Fame material.

His style, strength, & machismo reminds me of Rafael Limon.
In my opinion his talent was more than good enough to make it to the hall fame. He could have had a Danny Red Lopez or Orlando Canizales type career.

            What do you guys say?
He would have had a great career. Him and Manny would have made a great fight. Much better than that coward Mayweather and old man steroids Mosley.

First off Lamar Clark had a better record 44 wins 43 KO's. Not quite 100% but he fought twice as many opponents as Valero so it's still just as good or better.

And Tyrone Brunson beat Valero's 18 KO's in 1st round record already so who cares? Valero has no records. He's mediocre.

I think he could've been one of the better fighters in the sport, a top 140 pounder if he decided to move up. Hard to say if he would've run the division or anything like that though because 140 is stacked. There would've been some great fights to be made there.

It is a shame that the sport has lost such a talent, but that becomes irrelevant when you consider that he killed an innocent woman and potentially ruined the life of his children.

                  **** that ****.

Give him a break. The Mayweather are worse than Valero ever was. I don't agree with what he did nad it was terrible. But the Mayweathers are bigger scum. At least this guy recognized his demons. He just ran out of time.
