The rumor was that he was a Methhead and an alcoholic. Maybe he was on Meth when he beat De Marco. His eyes always looked like they were bugging out of his head. If he was clean, then maybe he was a great fighter. I never saw him hit clean by a powerful fighter so I guess we'll never know. But the guy was a monster out of the ring, clearly a mentalcase.

I hope this is sarcasm. At least sal sanchez gave us 40 plus fights & his greatness was actually verified by other greats like wilfredo gomez, azumah nelson, & danny red lopez. Valero never got the chance. That's why i think he's more tragic than sal with the fact that he killed his wife, he committed suicide & left 2 young kids without a mom & dad.

I think one of the biggest mysteries is what actually happened with valero & pacquiao sparring. There are very conflicting reports saying they sparred, they didnt spar, freddie was scared, valero got the best of manny, manny said he got the best of valero or whatnot.

Let's not talk about the fighters I high lighted..I could write a book about why he beat them lol....valero was oscars sparring partner before the pac fight..de la hoya didn't wanna spar him anymore..he apparently hit very hard and that's how he recieved the black eye..and who said that valero wouldn't improve if he was still alive??

Sanchz beat Gomez, Lopez x2, Nelson and other top fighters. Valero fought no one near that calibre.
