No, he didn't. That seems to be a common misconception on this board.

Williams BEAT Martinez. Martinez just proved hes better then Pavlik.

So where does that leave the guy who BEAT Martinez? Right.

Williams beating a Prime Marg, Winky and Martinez is better then Martinez only big win which is Pavlik a guy most of bscene called a bum.
Pavlik was undisputed at MW and also undefeated at that weight. A win that trumps Williams' whole career to this point.

You seem to have no problem ranking Mosley over Cotto, despite Cotto's win over him.

No he didn't what? And not for nothing, but in his last fight, Williams beat Martinez. Did I miss something? That would mean he's beaten the best at 147 and 154...and now 160 if you consider Martinez the best at both divisions.

I had it as a draw, so if you take that out of the equation for me Martinez has done more and he currently lineal champion of both JMW and MW, division's Williams is both rated in.

You have to be kidding me?

          Cotto beat Mosley in 2007.

          Marg beat Cotto in 2008.

          Mosley beat Marg in 2009.

You dont get how Mosley is ranked over Cotto. Like are you being serious right now?

How does that win trump Williams whole career. When Williams beat Martinez who just proved he was better then Pavlik.

          You arent making sense.

Cotto- In his last 4 fights hes 2-2.Got destroyed by Margarito. Beat Jennings who is a bum. Damn near lost to an average Clottey. Then got ass ****d by Pacquiao.

JMM- Last we seen he got shut out by Floyd. Then had a chance to fight Soto, Peterson, Khan, Guzman, Mitchell, Katsidis, Funeka, or Valero (R.I.P). Yet chose to rematch a shot Diaz. Then on top of that he has his eyes set on a shot Hatton and a shot Morales next.

              Meanwhile.

Williams is on a 5 fight winning streak and among those 5 was Martinez a fighter who is better then Cotto, Hopkins, and JMM right now.
              5 fight win streak against

Quintana: who outclassed him the first time by a MILE!..so in reality they're 1-1

              Andy Kolle: Who?

Verno Phillips: who's like 5'3..ok win at best for stopping him

Winky Wright: 2 year layoff..rusted out..and horrible match up..seriously..ok win at best too..

Martinez: struggled immensly!..got dropped ugly!..and arguably lost!! (again 110-119 WTF?!)

all the fighters are more well rounded, better skilled, and arguably have better resumes with in the last few years..true story..

Paul Williams is alright..I don't take anything away from the fact that he's a monster and a threat to EVERYONE from 140.1(*******s!..lol)-160..but uwanting to overrated him won't work until he stops looking so vulnerable against people who really shouldn't..and be more dominant in his key victories..that's all..

Hes not the Lineal Champion or even the real champ at 154 thats Dzinziruk. There is no lineal champ at 154.

How has he done more then Williams when his only win is Pavlik?

Didnt Martinez just prove he was better then Pavlik?

                Didnt Paul beat Martinez?

Well you can take it out of the equation but he won. I mean, I understand you had your score as I have mine but this wasn't some robbery that we can just erase. It was a tough fight where he was knocked down early, battered and then came on in the middle rounds before closing like a champ. And got the decision. Check that, earned the decision. I don't discount that. He also is a two-division champ who holds a one-sided win over Winky Wright. PW is rated higher pound for pound on my list.

Hey I am not questioning whether or not he should be there, but from what you said, beating a guy 2 divisions below him is not enough to warrant a spot if its based on a fighter has done lately.
