I must be the only person who KNEW he would beat Pavlik.

That's why it's no big deal to me.

The hand speed for a JMW was just awesome and the awkwardness and countering ability really left an impression on me.

Now he beats up the Pavlik who ko's most of his MW opponents and who outweighed Sergio a natural 154lber by 11lbs in the fight.

hmm, well I think hes going to be overrated now after his win tonight.

Dont get me wrong, hes very talented...fast, very solid boxing ability, and actually quite exciting despite his 'defensive' based style. Flat out, the guy is quality.

However, he has some faults...his defense is somewhat leaky at times and he seems to run out of stamina if continually pressured. Every fighter has their faults though, of course.

Pavlik was, and is, pretty one dimensional however. Martinez simply had someone in front of him that he could read like a book, despite the size disadvantage. the middleweight division has been pretty darn weak for a while now.

Im already reading things like 'Martinez could beat the top 168lbers' and all though. and uh...I dont know about that.
Could be wrong, but I dont think his 'reign' is going to last long. Im sure he will give very quality performances until he loses the belt, however, and look foward to all his fights.

and off topic but to these kiddies with the 'Pavlik is a kkk member/****' comments: grow up.

The only fighter I see beating Martinez at 154 and 160 is Paul Williams. He's just that good.

The only people that thought he was overrated are the ones that was hyping up Arthur Abraham,Kelly Pavlik,Samuel Peter,Jermaine Taylor and Kessler.

The latest fighter they hyping is Bute.

They`ll never learn so i wont bother anymore.

I dont see Martinez going to 168. He would lose alot of the attributes that make him a great fighter just like JMM lost them going up in weight. For a fighter relying on speed, reflex and agility, gaining weight makes it a lot harder for them to be effective. Especially when the best fighters at 168 are natural fast in that division such as Dirrell and Ward.
