He fought Oscar at 154 and was blazing fast and bouncing all over the ring.

Who wins, how, and why?
The funny thing about this is....if the fight does happen and Floyd beats him, he, Martinez, will be labelled as a Bum.

I think Martinez is very overrated. Hes shown me nothing that says he would even be competitive vs. a guy like Mayweather. Just two different levels of fighters.
i think a fight between pacquiao and martinez would be very difficult for pacquiao. it's a style he's never been in with, martinez would be physically much bigger, etc.

Pacquiao is faster then Martinez and hits harder. He will touch Martinez alot but Martinez will beat him and might stop him late. Once he figures Pac out its curtains.

I'm not sure. His body isn't as defined as it was at 135 and below. He isn't fat but he isn't ripped up like he use to be, so I'm starting to believe that he is putting on unnecessary weight to make WW (but thats just my opinion). To go up to 154 I think he is gonna have to put on a performance of a lifetime to win a belt there, but it's possible.

Also Martinez uses his height reach etc. unlike Oscar, who crouches forward and forgets to use his jab. I mean I don't think Martinez is overrated, but that has nothing to do with him being too big for those guys. his size along with the talent his has aleady, would be too much for any WW.

I say this because I have never seen a smaller fighter move up in weight against a faster/bigger opponent and still win.

martinez would be awkward for him. quick, athletic, southpaw, who won't just stand in front of him he'll make pacquiao look for him, obviously martinez will have to keep his hands up at all times. plus i'm sure pacquiao's hand speed would be slower not just because of the weight but because at 154 i believe you must wear 10 ounce gloves.

I fear he might lose a lot of that speed trying to make 154. Also Martinez has a 76' reach vs pac 67' inch reach, which will be a problem since Martinez likes to move and fight from the outside.

Pac could beat him, but I would like to see how Pac looks against a Mosley or Floyd b4 he faces a guy like Martinez (both Shane and Floyd have long reaches and are fast...which is why I say this).

                  Martinez
                  5-11 160-165 fight night
                  76" reach
                  just as fast

                  Pacquiao
                  5-6 1/2 149 fight night
                  67" reach

Now if they were the same size, Pac would stop him within 10 rounds. But due to the size and reach advantage, along with Martinez being just as fast if not faster (due to the extra weight slowing Pac down) I really wouldn't like Pac chances in this fight.

Martinez is just too big for Pacquiao

This somehow got hijacked into Paq vs Martinez, Paq is my favorite fighter but I think 147 is tops for him. Floyd has fought and won at 154, he is a little taller than Paq and likely has a little reach advantage on Paq, can someone find that out for me. I think Floyd vs Martinez would be a great fight.

Mayweather vs Martinez would be very interestng. I wish Floyd had moved up to 154 to fight Spinks like he wanted to. It would make this a lot easier for me to predict, because we'd see how he does against a slick southpaw at 154.
