If GBP does that, then they are idiots. He will be in the same bout Berto is which is being a world champ but not ready for world championship competition. You would be forcing Canelo to face opponents he isn't ready for, so the best thing to do is have him fight for an contential titles or something along those lines. He will still be a champion, but could be brought along slow and developed nicely.
is DLH and the people at GBP ******?

The IBF is also very strict with mandos and stuff apparently:
Champ: Jan Zaveck
1. Rafael Jackiwicz
2. NOT RATED
3. Selcuk Aydin
4. Isaac Hlatshwayo
5. Delvin Rodriguez
6. Randall Bailey
7. Jackson Bonsu
8. Carlos Abregu
9. Alfonso Gomez
10. Mike Jones
11. Luis Collazo
12. Said Ouali
13. Jesus Soto-Karass
14. Sebastian Lujuan
15. Rudolpho Martinez
Alvarez will be fine. If he has a belt it still wont force GBP to put him in over his head.Comment

So if alvarez beats a Jose Cotto, who's best weight is at 135-140 and who lost to juan diaz, that means alvarez is ready for a title shot at 147???
please explain to me the logic. I don't understand how beating up a blown up lightweight makes a person ready for a titleshot at 147 lbs. DLH must be using floyd xylocaine jr logic: none.
this is why GBP is the worst promotional company for a prospect. Victor Ortiz anyone?Comment

it's GBP matchmaking that put Ortiz in a situation to expose his lack of heart. they could've brought him along more slowly and tested that heart before they put him in with an unknown quantity like maidanaComment
