I think Dawson's power is a tad underrated. Tarver and Johnson are two guys with steel chins. Plus, his style really isn't about going for the KO.

No it would not make him the Ring champ. But, it will make him the lineal champ.

He is not considered the Ring champ. But, he is the WBA champ. And, IMO the lineal champ.

He did not beat the man as in the champ because there was no champ at the division. Marg vs Shane was for the VACANT lineal title.

I remember Pacquiao beat barrera the first time with no official title at stake, but did become ring champ.

That is because Barrera was the Ring and lineal champ when Pac beat him. He should of also had the WBC and IBF titles but the sanctioning bodies are full of crap.

Floyd has said he will not pay sanctioning fees to the WBA so a win would still make him the L champ at 147. That would be his 7th title in 5 weights. Pretty damn good.

The WBA title is on the line, if Floyd does not pay for the sanctioning fee I am pretty sure GBP will. Just like how Top Rank did with Cotto-Pac. And, it really should be his 6 title in 5 weight-classes since Zab Judah should never been the IBF champ after loosing. But, whatever...

On a side note, The Ring announced that Chad Dawson, Ring #1 LHW, vs. Pascal, Ring #3 LHW, will be for The Ring LHW title because Dawson has already beaten The Ring #2 LHW, Johnson, twice.
