****, i remember when boxing analysts and experts were saying "pac is a force at 122 or 126, but was too small for 130" lol...and to where he is now is truly a remarkable career and legacy...

i no doubt know that years after he retires, people will rank him high ATG and appreciate what the man did for the sport of boxing
watching the cotto fight brought back some of those memories of him walking down his opponent and looking for the knockout...

****, when cotto would hit pacquiao, and pac would hit himself on the head (and even his body, since cotto is known as a nasty body puncher), that brought me back to them good ol' days lol...

i was telling my boys that you guys have just witnessed what i've been watching for 8-9 years lol

Yeah. I saw at least one of his Morales wins and Marquez II was a big deal.

Seeing him fight a completely shot/drained Oscar was depressing as ****, but how could we know? Sad fight. If it had been the first Pac fight I saw I probably wouldn't have cared much for him.

It was like whatshisname irish guy beating Mike Tyson, just sad.

most filipino *******s were following pacquiao before he came to the u.s.

he was already a star in the philippines before the barrera fight.

he became a superstar in philippines after the barrera fight.

most filipino-american *******s started following pacquiao in 2001 when he beat ledwaba or 2003 after barrera.

only casual fans followed pac because of delahoya.

most of that is true, being that casual fans never really pay attention to the lower weight classes...

but chill with the filipino *******s thing...this website is notorious for having them, but that don't mean all filipinos never boxed before knowing about pacquiao

          lets be honest (lesbianas)

I was keeping an eye on him and pulling for him for about five fights before the first JMM fight. I remember Jim Lampley exclaiming in the first round "MANNY PACQUIAO IS A STORM!!" Marquez did a great job the rest of that fight and got back into it, he is an absolutely great fighter in his own right. But that fight is when I really got behind Paq, I was talking to a boxing fanatic freind about it the following monday, he didnt think Marquez should have gotten a draw, but we both agreed that if Paq ever really learned how to box he could be a huge draw. And here he is.

I have similar experience with u. I saw Pac when he was still fighting on the "Blow by Blow" program. I saw him fought 2 or 3 times in that program and the commentators were praising him so much that I thought maybe this kid is a "real deal".

Then after that I just heard the news from my friend that he lost to a Thailander and my friend was saying that maybe Pac gave that fight to the Thailander coz he already lost his belt during the weigh in.

I became a Pac believer when he beat Ledwaba. I had my doubts when he fought Barrera but after his demolition, I was officially on his bandwagon.

People here dont realize that we, Filipinos, are the biggest doubters when it comes to Filipinos in international competition. Before Pac's success, we always thought that our talent is not on a world class stage. Pac changed all of that with his rise from poverty to fame. That's why Pac is the biggest star in the Philippines because he conquered all the odds that were stacked against him.

                      pacquiao is very lucky.

his first fight in the u.s. is on a delahoya ppv undercard.

then he was on the tyson-lewis undercard.

he got a lot of exposure early.
