I actually think Cotto would do much better in the rematch but what's the point. I'm against rematches where the first fight was so clear and onesided.

Maybe if both were under Top Rank.

            Listen guys.....

I love COTTO and I love MANNY. The main reason COTTO didn't stop MANNY in my opinion is because he was weight drained. If they had fought at 147, the fight would have unfolded differently. The signs of a weight drained fighter are but not limited to......lack of stamina, weakened chin, and slower hands. Sounds familiar? Look at the MARGACHEETO who fought COTTO versus the one who fought MOSLEY. He's been draining himself to make welterweight for years! Now when he wasn't able to take MOSLEY's punches and he got tired which never happens, I knew what was happening to him. Not to take anything away from MOSLEY but he was fighting a wounded fighter that night. Same with OSCAR versus MANNY, COTTO versus MANNY, VARGAS versus MOSLEY in the rematch. A rematch between COTTO and MANNY without a weight stipulation, would be a different fight. COTTO was in great shape but because he had to drain himself, he wasn't effective. His body was ripped! COTTO is never ripped like that. LoL.

as much as i want Cotto to blast that margocheato, i dont think he belongs in the ring with cotto again, but to be quiet honest, he shouldn't even be fighting again. I think the rematch with pac if cotto wins is in order. U have to believe that cotto will not drain his weight again to 145.. the cause of his demise in the first fight was stamina due to the weight drain. With a new veteran trainer and a new weight class he can still do good things. In my opinion 154 is still too heavy for cotto he should have stayed at 147 and fought at 147 not at a weight drained 145.

Pacquiao knocked Cotto out in the twelfth round to win the WBO welterweight title last November. He thinks Pacquiao can be lured to 154-pounds in chase of another divisional title. Correction Cotto was TKO'd in the 12th not KO'd.

It seems that Stewards opinion of Cotto is rapidly growing. He has went from saying his basics are all screwed up to him being one of the best technical fighters he has seen. Personally I think Cotto was a good technical fighter but sometime around the middle of his career, once he found out he could pound people senseless, he kind of lost focus on just how important that was to his game. You can see from fight to fight Cotto would show glimpses of what he could do when he decided to be more technical and less of a destroyer.

Cotto has the tools to beat Pacquiao assuming he's still near his peak. I'm curious to see how he improves. I'm feeling pretty comfortable with Steward in his corner.

when u think about it, he gave pacqiao his best fight. clottey tried not 2 get ko & blocked for 12rds. hatton was blown out in 2rds. oscar was pounded for 8 or 9 rds in a one sided fight from the opening bell. cotto, even with the 2 knockdowns, was in the fight half way thru. after rd 8, his tank was empty, eyes started swellen & pacquiao started landing & landing with little response from cotto.

Good for Cotto fighting in Yankee Stadium in NY. Where there is a heavy population of Puerto Rican people.
And where is Margarito fighting? freaking Mexico that's where.
