Can Wlad surpass Lennox as ATG

Tough to beat Lewis as an ATG for Wlad IMO based on achievement. But Wlad still has three, maybe four more years ahead of him. Let's judge Wlad once he retires.
Wlad has to make sure he doens't get knocked out anymore and has to retire unbeaten from now on, so much is certain.Comment

He could have 65 wins or so by the time he is done. And over 50 knock outs. If some of the guys he is beating by the time he retires go on to rule the division. Some of his wins may end up looking better then an old Holyfield.Comment

Regarding the "Lennox avenged all his losses" remark...
Let's not forget Lennox was quite lucky to get the CHANCE to avenge his losses. The stars aligned perfectly for him:
1. He had a rematch contract with Rahman. After Lewis' loss, Don King approached Rahman with a suitcase full of cash in $100 bills: "Hasim, you don't have to rematch him. Just sign my contract and take this suitcase".
Lewis had to go to court in order to get a shot at Rahman again. Many things could have gone wrong in the court considering it was Don King who was pulling the strings in the background. Lewis got lucky all went in his favor.
2. Lewis got knocked out by McCall, then got back on track and became the mandatory for the WBC title again. Now Bowe was holding it. Then Bowe heard he will be stripped of the WBC belt if he didn't fight Lewis immediately so he threw it in the trashcan. Then the WBC ordered Lewis - McCall for the vacant title.
McCall wasn't fit to fight, he was going through drug therapy. The rematch was a farce. This fight should never have happened. Again, Lewis was lucky to get his revenge.
But it could have gone the other way as well: McCall could have disappeared in a drug rehab clinic forever without Lewis ever getting a chance to avenge his loss.Last edited by maverock; 04-15-2010, 03:53 AM.Comment

I think he can, as a previous post states, he has 57 fights. and he does have some more fights left in him, so if he keeps dominating the division, he could go down higher than Lewis or at least VERY close.
Not a big fan of Lewis, but Wlad must win at least 5-10 more fights to surpass him.
but by all means, it is fully possible in my opinion. Lewis didnt exactly fight everyone on his resume in their prime so it kind of hurts his resume a bit.
this is just my opinion, no hate against either fighter.

If Wlad beats Haye and Povetkin and a dozen other good contenders like Arreolla, Boytsev etc etc and has a total of over 70 fights and 20 title defences then he would equal and maybe even surpass Lennox Lewis. So yes he can become greater but right now Lennox Lewis is still greater than wlad.Comment
