You dont take a knee for nothin,of course corley was hurt. That was the ******est fight cotto ever fought, I actually wanted corley to knock cotto out for fighting such a ****** fight, but that was a one time deal.If cotto was really as weak as u make him out to be,corley surely would have knocked him out,but he couldnt. The only "fraud " here was that there was a ****ty ref who seemed to end the fight prematurely, but if u think that the fight would have ended any other way than by corley being KO'ed,your way off.And yes cotto needs to move up in weight, draining himself is only hurting him too,but theres good talent at his current weight, and i wanna see him fight them b4 he does move up,he two fights left tops at that weight.People say its ****** that he goes to a diffrent level opposition after corley, well its because he gets no respect after the corley fight, hows he gonna fight the top opposition?Originally posted by spinksjinx
Corley had taken a knee and showed no signs of being hurt, I am not hanging onto nothing but whatever diluted opinion you have of what was going to happen we will never know because nothing did. Cotto was the only fighter who looked hurt and Corley wasnt hurt and if he was he would have had enough to get up.
EVERYBODY knows that Corley fight was a fraud, hell even Cotto believes so.Last edited by Mech.; 06-08-2005, 06:51 PM.Comment

Disregarding the other knockdowns there was no reason to stop the fight, CORLEY wasnt hurt at the time of the stoppage. YOU CANT DENY THAT!
Mech-I never made Cotto look weak.Comment

looks to be in good shape cotto is one of my favorite fighters but i hope that he knows what it is that the nutritionist is giving him , nutritionist now days are so shady and will give an athlete steroids without them even knowing because of the trust they put in them ..Originally posted by borikuaHe looks in better condition than b4...Cotto's team hired a nutritionist and he already looks like he can make the 140 pound limit...Comment

Corley had his way with Zab, Floyd, and Miguel. I believe he had it easier with Miguel because it didnt last as long. Corley is one tough cat and people cant forget that.
However, I would like to point out that I respect Cotto and I realize what he is capable (although not a fan) I respect what he has done and is noway in hating on Cotto, I just believe he didnt bring much to the table in the Corley fight and it was a crooked ending.
When Harold Lederman calls one of his favorite fighters fights a "disgrace" certainly that has to mean something.

Lederman didn't say that, it was Merchant. And what he said was that the ref's call was a disgrace to boxing. I know Corley is tough, that's why I was enraged with the ref's decision that night only because it the KO seemed inevitable. Corley looked discouraged after getting caught with some body punches. You're entitled to your own thoughts, we just saw the fight differently.Originally posted by spinksjinxCorley had his way with Zab, Floyd, and Miguel.
