I think Shannon Briggs is the only american that can one of the championship home.He was the last one to hold one. He has the power to do it if I was him go after Wladomir or Hayes both have suspect chins but out the two Wladomir has the weaker one.Briggs has the power to do it and knock him or Hayes smooth out.

I agree but it would require roadwork... I know cats from the red brick gym out here that SHannon used to work out with in the late nineties and early 2000s and said he would do like half a mile of jogging and call it a day.

He's lighter than he's been for a while, so that's a positive. The first round knockout isn't that much of a surprise, as it's what Briggs does best when fighting journeymen. He will need to fight a couple of decent fighters to prove he's capable of fighting for another title. I still maintain that he's the most dangerous fighter out there for Wladimir. He can only be dangerous if he gets the shot and comes in better condition than he has done in recent years, though.

It's worth keeping an eye on anyway.

Briggs will never get a title shot. Why? Because he's not good enough to beat any of the current contenders: Chambers, Arreola, Johnson, Povetkin... all of thm would beat his ass. Fighting a bum like this certainly doesn't get him any closer to a title shot.

He doesn't have to beat any of them. He just needs to beat a couple of top 20-30 fighters and he'll probably get mentioned again. If he's going to have a chance against any of that group you mentioned, it would definitely be Arreola. Arreola won't be dancing around trying to outbox him, so that will leave an opportunity for Briggs.

I think his head's fckd up because his first name is Shannon. Some guys get affectd by that and picked on and they end up weirded out. Pavlik is an exception but just look around, guys with girly names usually are strange cats...
