Trash talk is great, adds excitement to the build up.

And the beauty of trash-talking in boxing is that if you talk ****, you have to back it up with your fists vs another man in the ring. It's not like rappers or posers talking trash.

nothing wrong with ****-talking, its part of the hype leading to the fight, but there's a right way to do it and a wrong way to do it.

one guy that does it well today is james toney. he never gets into people's personal lives unless they get into his first. all he says is how he's gonna whup his opponents and calls them various names.

The real question is, why do some insist that athletes just "Keep their mouths shut, and stay in their place."? With all the terrible stuff going on in the world, why do people look at a bunch of people on tv talk and get upset? What is the mentality of people who get upset about that?

Fighters can say what the hell they please long as they back it up in the ring. I have no quarrel with it then.

The truth. It's such an insignificant thing in the grand scheme of things. Even the flame wars between Pac and Mayweather fans on this site seem like such a waste of energy to me.
