Why do people think a slick boxer will beat Pacquiao?

I can see a counter puncher but the whole advantage of being slick is having better footwork/footspeed, being quicker/more elusive and having better handspeed than your opponent. In all honesty, what fighter has any of those advantages over Manny?
This is why I don't get the whole "Slick fighter" arguement. I could see if he was an Arthur Abraham or Kelly Pavlik, but Pac is fast enough to cut off the ring against anyone in boxing, and with his footwork and cordination....I cant see anyone turning him either.Comment

You answered it in your question with the counter punching. Counter punching is Pacs weakness and one of Floyds many strengths. C punching was Pacs downfall against Marquez but he was able to overcome that due to the knockdowns but that wouldn't happen against Mayweather. Mayweather has great D and is quicker than Juan. Pac may be great at a few things but Mayweather is great at almost everything and a lot of those things that he is really good at plays to Mannys weaknesses.
People that pick Manny to win only have one reason as to why he would win and thats his aggression but aggression is usually negated by speed and counter punching. When you get countered you usually don't come with much aggression(see punch totals v avg totals for manny against JMM versus his normal fights).Comment

Maybe its just that when you think about Floyd, you think slick. Because believe it or not the word "slick" has been around a lot longer than Floyd Mayweather.Comment

Two reasons.
1. Because he's proven himself susceptible to counter punching boxers, with decent feet, and a solid right hand.
2. Because he and his camp have done everything possible to avoided slick fighters with good feet. Which tells me they obviously aren't confident in his abilities in contrast to the above mentioned style.Comment
