Well, here is the deal, steroids will not make you throw a perfect left hook, if you dont already throw a perfect left hook BUT they will make it that much easier to throw that perfect left many more times and especially in later rounds. Anyone who boxed knows just how hard it is to throw punches, move around the ring, etc... in later rounds, where you feel like you walk on sandy beach and throw punches like you are underwater. Steroids DO help keep you fresh all throughout the fight.

but people seem to think... steroids or enhancement drugs make you the ultimate boxer.... they just make you big and strong..... they dont help on your jab, or your right hand, or your left hand, hook, or uppercut........ alot of people i know think steroids make you a better boxer.... they dont.... ........

      anyone agree....
agreed. roids don't make you a better boxer.

it's still illegal, and I'm not against random blood testing, just saying it doesn't turn an average boxer into an extraordinary boxer

it didn't stop vargas from getting KTFO, mosley from a terrible performance against dlh in the rematch, or help toney gain a model physique.

When Pac was a flyweight, he was a drained teenager. He definitely still lost, but it's understandable. Duran did in fact struggle with Esteban De Jesus, a lightweight, and then shrugged off Leonard's punches. So...yeah. I know it's not apples to apples, but the circumstances are similar.

It made them do better than what they would have done without them , thats why they are called PEDs and thats why they took them to improve on what they could bring .

Steroids are overrated. They make you stronger but they also take away your stamina...

Only when taking in big doses like a bodybuilder takes , for a fighter they would not take a lot just enough to get the training euphoria effect to much and your getting too much water retention , but today its not anabolic steroids that are the PEDS people are using , its much more sophisticated than testosterone .

Mosley used steroids... so did Toney, Vargas and Vitali

I know EPO would give you a big advantage in boxing though.

Thats fine but like I said they would not use big doses , the training effect is all they would be after and that doesnt take high doses to get , steriods dont really suit any sport that needs to make a weight because of water retention , a fighter on Anabolics would cycle real early in training and drop it mid point , its all the other stuff in todays sport than requires much more testing for .
