Steroids dont make you the ultimate boxer.

ok... first i dont condone steroids.... im glad that there is random testing for the mosley fight, i hope there is more olympic-style testing in the future...

but people seem to think... steroids or enhancement drugs make you the ultimate boxer.... they just make you big and strong..... they dont help on your jab, or your right hand, or your left hand, hook, or uppercut........ alot of people i know think steroids make you a better boxer.... they dont.... ........

    anyone agree....

Performance enhancing drugs. Do only that.

They enhance your performance. They wont make a bum into Floyd Mayweather.

Steroids won't make you technically better. But, being faster, stronger, and having better endurance is an unfair advantage.

epo's give you extra red blood cells which give you more oxyegon and help you train longer..which means you get more time work on your technique workout longer and in the actual fight you can throw 100 plus punches a round..understand now genouis.....theres a reason steroids.epo's are illegal..so stop trying to justify its usage

They're called PERFORMANCE ENHANCERS for a reason. They make you stronger, faster, and give you more endurance. Nobody said it's gonna make an average person into an elite fighter but it will enhance a very good fighter into an elite fighter and that is CHEATING any way you spin it. Just like Baseball. Of course ballplayers have to be gifted like having a good eye for the ball and things like that but when you can hit the ball 20 feet farther it will make a big difference as you seen with Bonds, McGuire, and Sosa.. And alot of other ballplayers.

I HATE YOUR POSITION. HATE IT. HATE IT. HATE IT.

Performance enhancing drugs (the vast majority) are for TRAINING. So, yes. They do make you a better fighter.

What did we always hear about the steroid users 'Oh, he trained so hard. He was the first one there and the last one to leave". Yeah... the drugs helped him to do that.

If I can take drugs that allow me to train longer, harder and to recover faster than you...does that help me get better?

It's not like I take a syringe and my power becomes 3x, or my jab becomes laser-like. No. But what happens is that I get to train longer, and harder. While you are wiped out, i still have the stamina to keep working.

...and all that extra training makes me better.

That is why sports authorities have 'out of competition testing". MOST of the testing done by WADA is OOC. Because they know that it's during the training periods that people REALLY need the drugs.

If I can train longer and get my lungs to expand and my red blood cells richer, I have the benefit (ON FIGHT NIGHT) of all that training....even though the drugs were out of my system since last week.

            Feel me?

Agreed. Look how Pacquiao took his power up to Welterweight. He is very strong... only possible with PED's.

And, oh by the way, that is what makes Manny's request for a test-free period in trainng directly before the fight seem so su****ious.

Was Roberto Duran on steroids? He outmuscled Sugar Ray in their first fight, bulled him all around the ring. It's a common misconception that Sugar Ray got duped into fighting Duran's fight, but he started off trying to outbrawl him - because he thought he would be so much stronger. Yet Duran carried his strength to Welterweight...steroids?

Could very well be , it would be much easier in the old days to use them undetected than today ,,, but then again Duran never got got knocked out by flyweights and never struggled with lightweights and then all of a sudden started taking welter shots and knocking out welters , and Duran was never accused and said no to accurate testing ,,,, analogys are only to a point .
