I disagree. The excitement of the KO is what appeals to the vast majority of viewers and fans (notice I make a distinction between the two). Do you think Mike Tyson could ever have become the PPV monster he became if he won all his fights by decision? The knockout, and brawling, has always appealed more to the masses. It's easy to understand. It appeals to the primal instinct in us all. It takes knowledge and sophistication to appreciate and, therefore, enjoy a scientific display of boxing skill.

I agree with that. I'm speaking more of the braindead fan who calls any slick fighter a p*ssy because he doesn't fight like Butterbean used to.

KOs are definitely more popular than a decision. But part of it is and has always been that people without of full understanding of what boxing is will just want to see one of the guys get the **** knocked out of him. It's no different than the guy who says any MMA grappler is gay because all he wants to to is roll around with a sweaty man. If you don't even understand what passing the guard means of course you will be furious when the fight goes to the ground.
