He don't throw enough punches, that's why i hate him. He should brawl more. He can't even land more clean accurate punches than his opponent(s).

the way floyd fights is 1000 times harder to perfect and fight compared to manny.
but im a big fan of the sport the science and box myself. so i study it. i enjoy all aspects of boxing except punch and hold. or running without throwing any punches. floyd ring generalship and controll and ability to adjust on the fly is crazy. and i love watching him defend then counter.
Same here. Watching him and Marquez waiting for each other to made mistakes and counter those mistakes was a beauty to watch IMO.

Brawling more brings risks to his game. Why should he do that when it isn't even needed? How can you say he doesn't land more clean and accurate punches? Which fights are you talking about in which his opponents landed more clean and accurate punches? Mayweather doesn't throw many but he definitely does land clean and accurate punches from the few that he throws.

Im a massive Floyd fan but to be honest the way he performed against Juan Manuel Marquez was a little disapointing for me. I bought the pay per view on delay here in Australia and already knew the result but didnt read anything that would give away how the fight went.

From just hearing the result i thought that Marquez must have atleast proved a solid chin and put up a decent fight, but he wasnt even competitive and whilst it was entertaining to watch Floyds slipping, pull counters and pot shots in the early goings he should have closed the show towards the end of the fight. I belive he could have and atleast then he could have recieved some kudos for being the first to knock marquez out, despite him being 2 weight classes below thats still a feat to acheive on a top ten pound for pounder and future hall of famer.

But as we all know Floyd didnt pull the trigger and that to me was a little snooze inducing, however that is the only floyd fight that i have watched and not thouroughly enjoyed bar maybe carlos baldomir which was a similar affair but atleast you knew he blowing the 'best' out of the water in that instance within his own weight class.

you got to commend the few who do it the hard way, which is training hard and figuring out their opponent in the ring - that's the sweet science man.

If you consider Mayweather Jr fights boring then you seriously need to get your eyes examined. Nuff said.
i respect floyd skills and love the sweet science but its not hard to imagine why most today dont find floyd style entertaining

                floyd is way too cautious

floyd D is great but he is way too selective on when he gonna make his opponents pay for there mistakes (ex..oscar, baldo, Marquez fights)

its a shame that floyds height of popularity did not happen early in his career when he was the very definition of the "sweet science "

examples of floyds of prodigy like genius are his fights with g.hernandez, j.chavez, e.burton, manfredy, corrales, castillo,

the floyd of yesterday was a joy to watch

I disagree. The excitement of the KO is what appeals to the vast majority of viewers and fans (notice I make a distinction between the two). Do you think Mike Tyson could ever have become the PPV monster he became if he won all his fights by decision? The knockout, and brawling, has always appealed more to the masses. It's easy to understand. It appeals to the primal instinct in us all. It takes knowledge and sophistication to appreciate and, therefore, enjoy a scientific display of boxing skill.

I watched the fight with a friend of mine, another big boxing fan, and he made the same observation. He's not a big fan of Floyd. I can take him or leave him. But I understood and agreed with his point. You say you're an ATG? Wrap up the show like any ATG would, with a knockout, if at all possible. As it was, Mayweather merely proved his superiority in a sparring session-like display. At its heart, boxing is a fight, not a demonstration. Even Ali, as scientific a fighter as they come, would move in for the kill when he sensed the opportunity.

Its more who he decides to fight than how he fights.

if you want to charge ppv the least you could do is to dominate in entertaining fashion cherry picked opponents who have no shot of beating you.

                      He cant even do that.
