I'd rather see Hatton fight the winner of Mayweather vs Gatti but he'd have the chance of winning the WBA & WBO against the Cotto vs Harris winner and wouldnt have the HBO & Showtime problems the other fight would cause.

On the power issue, I've thought Cotto has better single shot power than Hatton but i'm not sure now, Hattons been fighting fighters who have never been KO'd and Cotto hasnt. Hatton hurt Tszyu and would have dropped him but the ropes kept him up. Although it looks like Cotto has the better single shots power its still up for debate because Hatton defintely been figting people with better chins.

I think Hatton would beat Cotto but it would be tough, the main reason i favour Hatton is because Cotto's never had to deal with the sort of heat Hatton brings.

doo, you typed all of this?! Dayum if you gonna type sumthin this lengthy, at least be smart enough to post facts. We cant have a good discussion if we jest bullshiznite around here, man!

Hatton has faced sum fightas who has been stopped befo. Couple of em actually. Do sum research is my advice.

Cotto HAS BEATEN fightas that HASNT been stopped contrary to what you said. LOvemore Ndou bein one, he even stopped the previously never been KOed Demarcus Corley.

Tszyu is a good experience fo Hatton. I truly hope he keeps it up.

I do not know if Cotto will make it through Abdullaev, let alone Hatton. It would be an interesting match. It is easy to say Hatton would easily defeat him because he struggled with Corley, but Hatton also got knocked down by a journeyman in the first round. So who knows?

        Cotto by brutal KO.
Although I am not 100% sure Hatton would win the fight I certainly can't see how you guys can use their punch resistance to favour Cotto. Hatton has only ever had a flash knockdown, he never even looked remotely hurt and it was against a top 10 fighter and renowned counter puncher. He also took some really heavy shots from Tszyu and did little more than bat his eyelids. Cotto was close to the brink and was rocked all over the place by a man much lighter than him. If it hadn't had been for the ref it may have been his first loss.

With this evidence how the hell can you suggest it favours Cotto? It just doesn't compute.

Here's the thing about Hatton. He is a great infighter from an incredibly close distance but what is he going to do against an excellent boxer that can use the ring for 12 rounds? I don't know how hatton would prepare for the fight. What would Hatton do against another excellent infighter...especially one that gave hime a shoulder instead of squaring up to him? Again I don't know. I have serious questions about Cotto too. Both good fighters trying to prove that they are great.

              @youngturk

eamonn magee was no journeyman. at the time of their fight he was top 10 with nearly all the asociations. he would have gone further as well except for a brutal beating he took from scumbags destroying his career

in respect to the topic i feel this is a hatton win unless cotto comes in at middleweight again in which case god knows

any boxing fan knows that any punch can hurt a man regardless of how heavy he is. It all depends on timing and placement and it was a perfectly executed counter by corley. So I wouldnt look too much into that. Just cause a fighter is stunned in a fight does not take away how good he is. People these days are just infactuated with a fighter with no Losses on his record and look too much into them being stunned in a fight. Now if he was stunned in every fight then you would have a point but the fact is it was only once

no one is 100% sure period!

look, if you been put own.......you give a 10-8 to your opponent!

If you only been rocked, shyt you can still win the round! Worse you get is a 10-9!

Now tell me how bein dropped is way betta than bein rocked?

If Corley lands the same amount and same force of punches on Ricky Hatton, Hatton would taste canvass. THOSE WERE SUM CLEAN, EFFECTIVE PUNCHES, that hit a fighta that disregarded his defense totally!

Hatton would win, Cotto is nothing special, who has he beat, as far as im concerned he lost against Chop Chop, He onyl won cuz he was in puerto Rico, if that fight were in the states it woulda been stopped when Cotto was moonwalking around the ring.

The ref made a bs call, but if the fight had continue Cotto would had KO'ed Chop Chop within the next 2-3 rounds...He was still hurt by the first body shot that drop him...To say that if the fight was in the US the ref would have stopped the fight when Cotto did "the moon walk" is just plain ******...that would be a premature stoppage...The only one that ****ed that fight was the ref..

If you have seen Cotto fight...to say that he's nothing special shows how much you know bout boxing..

It would be a hard fight for both, but Cotto has the edge IMO...
