How exactly is Dawson vs Hopkins a big fight? I know it's a great fight for hardcore boxing fans but for the general buying public?

I thought him and Hopkins were more than just business partners, but friends.

I wonder what the backlash will be for this.

the old senile man needs to retire. He doesn't make any sense and is a bore to watch with his dirty tactics.

No. They weren't bad at all. Jones can hit you the same way in the back of your head while you do the New York Times crossword puzzle. Uninterrupted.

In fact, I'm not even sure one of the punches hit him. It was a cuff/graze job.

I'm not mad at him for overselling it.... he wanted a breather, and I'm guessing the Russell Crowe act in the dressing room was to validate the in-ring embarrassment.

                    Hopkins has lost his mind

He doesn't have any business left in boxing as a fighter

                      Note to Hopkins:

The only reason you and Shane were on such a long layoff is because both of you limited your motha****in options to a select few # of fighters. It takes 2 to tango and GBP can't force anyone to face you or anyone else.

Last year you spent your time low balling Adamek, even though he consistently draws better attendance #s than you. Adamek is consistently drawing more than 6K against nobodies while you haven't drawn 6K in 2 fights, 1 in Philly.

You wanted to fight the winner of Dawson-Johnson II, suddenly you don't want that anymore. You were negotiating to fight Danny Green and probably low balled him. HBO gave you the option to fight Bute, no one knows what happened there. Calzaghe retired, he doesn't want to fight you again.

You're an ATG, but that doesn't mean you can command the type of purse you want. Your style is an acquired taste and few like what you're serving. Lower your purse demands, widen your selection pool, or retire.
