Well if he were to have success he might have a better chance at being a draw in UFC. I haven't always been the biggest fan but there is no question he is skilled and he could probably become a crowd pleasing MMA fighter!
Paul Williams going to join the UFC???

BJ Penn would clown Paul Williams at 155 or 170. Paul would get taken down with ease and submitted within 3 minutes. Dont be crazy! Chuck Liddell was a former college wrestler. That's where he learned his great takedown defense. Now,in a boxing match,Paul would whip BJ's ass!Last edited by Holtol; 04-09-2010, 02:04 AM.Comment

This is a good fight, they are close enough to the same relative size walk around weight and I expect Paul to break Kermit down and give him just an awful beating.Comment

Marcus Davis was a pro boxer for a long time and compliled a 17-1 record during his pro boxing career. In 2000 he turned to MMA and competed on the Ultimate fighter series where he lost to Joe Stevenson. He has a 16-6 record in MMA and most of his wins have come by.......
Submission!!
So no a good boxer doesn't necessarily translate into success. Marcus has stated several times in various interviews I've read that the foot work and stance boxers use in the ring does not translate over to MMA because the staggered stance boxers use makes them easy to either be taken down or to be hurt by leg kicks. Boxers actually have to learn to square up which is something any good boxer would have trouble learning to do.
So please accept it, a good boxer doesnt translate to a good Mixed Martial Artist. Just like a good MMA fighter doesn't mean they could be a good boxer.Comment
