Lew Jenkins had a reputation for entering the ring totally hammered or hungover.

I just felt like throwing that in.

Ezzard Charles went 3-0 against Archie Moore, whom Sugar ranks at #22, at LHW. He beat Teddy Yarosz, who's in the HOF. He went 2-0 against Charley Burley, who Sugar rates at #59. He went 5-0 against HOFer Joey Maxim. He went 2-1 against HOFer Lloyd Marshall. He went 4-1 against HOFer Jimmy Bivins. He went 2-2 against Jersey Joe Walcott, another HOF who Sugar rates at #79. He beat Joe Louis. That's 20+ victories over HOFers, several of whom are on Sugar's top 100.

And yet Charles still manages to come in 15 spots behind Jack Dempsey.

I can't seem to find Lewis on the list??? And if he ain't, it's a **** list. Though I like rating Marciano high, and Holyfield fought EVERYONE give him some credit.

I think historians try sound like they know it all by ranking unknown fighters high. Old time fighters in like 1920/30s get rated way to high. Overated in my opinion.
                      Yes. It makes me sick.
