But he's chances of winning went from high to almost zero just a few moments before his fight with Shane because because of the plaster issue.

It was impossible for Margarito not to be affected by this, specially in the ring where you need a lot of concentration. Its even generous to say that Marg was fighting around 50% of his total ability as a boxer that night.

True that Margarito was half hearted came fight time, but he was the only on to be blamed.
Not as emotionally hurt as you are because he lost. You might need this

Margarito woulda done better had he not lived the high life, and took **** seriously.

That wasn't the same Margarito that Shane refused to fight four years earlier.
It 's always easy to look for excuses after the fact. Margaritio never beats Mosley or Paul Williams. He doesn't have the style to do it and he's too slow. That's why he has never looked for a rematch with either one. Santos either. And that wasn't the same Mosley 4 years later either.

Shane deserves full credit for the win, because he was such a massive underdog going in to the fight

I agree that Margarito would have been bothered by the prefight plaster issue and would have most likely been sensing that his career might be over. But wouldnt that have been more motivation to put on a better performance?

You say his concentration may have been affected but at his best he has a style that doesnt really look like it requires much concentration. See vs Cotto: http://www.youtube.com/user/GP732676#p/u/27/QPOw16Z1yuE

Just walking forward absorbing punishment and giving out more. Im guessing Shanes shots just had a little too much on them, and as a Floyd fan that scares me after seeing the hits he Margarito walked through from Cotto.

People have too many excuses for why fighters lost. The sport would be better if people didn't dispute victories so much. I mean sometimes it's obvious a fighter is shot, like Roy Jones right now. But saying Margarito lost because he was emotionally bothered? Just give Sugar Shane the win!

I see the Margo / Shane fight like this..

Margo just got caught cheating.. He knows he fooked and probley wasnt 100% mentally there..

Its like If you know your getting fired from work.. Would you give 100% work into the last day knowing you will be getting called into your bosses office getting let go and maybe sent to jail..

Shane fought a mentally ****ed up Margo... that didnt have cement in his gloves..
