My dad was the starting push..he was a good fighter early on in his prime..4x golden glove champ...beat out Wayman Tisdale for the presidents athlete honor award..fought Julian Jackson for WBC title in the 80s..so I grew up around it..but I became a die hard fan watching Pea..then Roy..also it didnt hurt that I met a ton of famous fighters at a fight night event when I was 11

I got mugged one night and then got a heavy bag to practice fighting so that I'd have the courage to defend myself if that situation ever happened again. I started watching fights to study their moves and got hooked.

Watching Tito and Roy Jones when I was in grade school. But then I didn't watch for a while cause I didn't have HBO. Then I was flipping through the channels and saw Edison Miranda's violent KO of David Banks and thought maybe I should start watching again.

                    Good question.

The answer for me is the early 90's heavyweight fights and fighters. Most notably, Tyson, Morrison, Holyfield, Bowe and George Foreman.

Before that, I heard a lot about SRL, Haggler and Hearns but was a little too young to care.

Roy is what kept me into boxing........I was already a big fan by the time Roy started his rise to the P4P title.

Same for Oscar. I always liked him but I wasn't happy that he ended another one of my favorite fighters reigns. (JCC)
