He got more hype than he deserved but he isn't anywhere near as bad as these calzaghe haters make him out to be.

Does anyone believe that Manfredo wouldn't get stopped by Lacy at his best? Lacy has struggled in every match since Calzaghe.

Before Calzaghe he was a brawler with good power. Since Calzaghe and his injury he's a brawler without much power.

I think the version of Lacy from 2005 would've knocked out the likes of Manfredo and Mendoza, but I don't think he would've beaten any of the current Super Six boxers. He was good but limited and overrated.

Right now he doesn't look good at all. I can't think of anyone notable that he would beat.

calzaghe and the shoulder injury clearly took something out of him, but at the same time i dont think he was any good to begin with. watching earlier fights of his he always looked like a very flawed fighter who was just fighting bums, but would get exposed as soon as he stepped up.

he was slow, plodding, threw wide punches, had no defense and very low boxing IQ all along. even if all that stuff hadnt happened to him in the calzaghe and tsypko fights i still cant see him ever being competetive with a world class fighter.

he was a nice kid who had the mike tyson look and could punch a bit, so he got hyped to the skyes. but he was never any good imo.

Kessler is his best win IMO.

Lacy was good, but he was a totally different fighter after the injury and the Calzaghe fight. His left hook wasn't there anymore, his confidence died and he quickly became a shot fighter despite being so young.

The beating Calzaghe put on him wasnt only brutal, but it was also humiliating. I think his problems are more in his head than any injury. Was he any good before? Maybe, but he had an awful lot of people close to him and the media making all sorts of claims about how good he was and what he was going to do. I think the beating Calzaghe put on him destroyed any self belief he had before.

he had the world at his feat before fighting calzaghe. then when he lost his confidence was shot and he lost the invicibility mind set which is the biggest thing you can loser as a boxer

also the injury finished him for good
