If Mosley is old and washed up then great. Old washed up Shane beat the **** out of Margarito. So much for the theory that Floyd ducked the incredible Margarito because they means he must suck.

Even if he is shot and old, Freddie Roach is still too afraid to put Pacquaio in the ring with him. Maybe after Mayweather KO's Mosley, Roach will want the Mosley fight. He would then be perfect for the loser's tour Pac is on.

        He's 38 and hasn't fought in 18 months....I dunno if he's shot but he's past his best.

Neither is 33 for a boxer.

[QUOTE=hugh grant;8029352]But you forget Cottos wins since losing to margarito. He was still able to perform well enough to win.
So why coulndt clottey take advantage of Cottos trauma?[/

            QUOTE]

That's a good question considering that you're not sure whether Sugar Ray Leonard could have beaten Clottey.

Mosley is old, but he isn't shot. He has a good chance of winning this fight. The back to back training camps could help alleviate the layoff a little bit. It's simply his lack of footwork that may bedevil him in this fight.

I agree. If Pacquiao beat Mosley, it will be one of the greatest wins in his career. But if it's Floyd, Oh well...................

Yeah all you heard about was how "Mosley is a real fighter that brings it." Now he's "old and shot." But it's funny how Freddie Roach didn't want anything to do with this "old and shot" guy unless he weighed no more than 142 pounds. If not "Fights not happening" according to Roach. That's a pretty good impression from an "old and shot fighter."

But with all athletes in general who big themselves up like Floyd does, the expectations are far more severe than with Pacquiao who just comes to fight and doesn't really boast about him being better than everyone in Boxing history.

Floyd put himself in a position where even if he fights and beats Jesus Christ, his skeptics will say, "Well of course he's supposed to win".

But without his persona, Floyd wouldn't be where he is today, even with how great a fighter he is.

Shane is ageing and, at some point, he's going to look old. I'm hoping it's not his next fight. All I have to go by his the Margarito fight- we should all assume he's somewhere in that range of skills- and that'd make for a pretty good fight, I think.

He'll have the speed to bother Mayweather if he can do anything with it. Shane's had some great career moments and picks tough opponents- the Forrest and Wright fights- recently he was willing to test himself against Berto. I didn't know we were expecting him to look bad against Andre. If any of us weren't, why expect anything but the best?

As a pure fight fan I'm excited to see this fight because I'm hoping Shane makes a real tough night of it, tests Floyd, and gives us something exciting to hold Mayweather to.

                      Here's hoping....
