this is a good thing. Cotto is awesome fighter, but he needs to stay away from southpaws, unless he really works on his right hand.

its a little too late to try and save face. manny's been wanting to train this dude since the after the margarito bout, now after getting demolished by pacquiao he realizes he's not as good as he thought he was. smh.

I don't think it'll go that well for two reasons.

              1. Cotto seems to be the kind of guy who wants to run his own show. Even though he's hired Steward, I think Manny is too laid back to really stamp his authority on the situation, and that will mean that a lot of Cotto's faults won't be corrected. His time with Hamed is an example of this, where Naz basically did he own thing in camp and ignored some of Steward's plans.

              2. Cotto keeping Santiago on. Having two trainers at once doesn't really work anyway, but in this particular case we've already seen that Steward coming in to work with someone while their existing trainer remains part of the team doesn't produce the desired results. Hamed kept on his existing trainer, Suarez, when Steward came in, resulting in a confused and sometimes shambolic approach.

Oh yeah, and among Cotto's biggest flaws are his stamina and his mentality. Considering that Steward wasn't able to improve these parts of Jermain Taylor's game, I doubt he'll be able to do it here.

I still think that Cotto will win as I think he's a better boxer than Foreman and I feel that the style matchup favours him, but Steward is not the best man for the job. Nacho would've been a better choice IMO.

This is the FIRST REAL trainer COTTO gets. His career was make of his TALENT and Heart . i could only imagine the difference in his career if A great trainer was in his side since his 1rst professional bout.

                  He was great material

To me he is a sad story. Cuz he is good, but he was born with the skills and heart to be great. If u see the figth agaisnt Mosley he does a lot a things becuse of great skills. BTW: He won that figth, is not even a debate, cuz theres a lot of people saying he lost. If u know anything about boxing u go round by round and he won at least 7 rounds. Same thing with the Clottey figth, people says clottey won, how can u won not figthing? Same thing 7 rounds for Cotto

I jut hope he does well in this last stage of his career. He deserves it. He comes to figth every night
