Can a HW be on the P4P list?

I read the latest BS P4P list and see there are no heavyweights on there, again

I thought pound 4 pound meant based on a boxer's skill, if they were bigger they would dominate?

So the list seems to be small guys , but cant it be big guys - saying IF they were smaller, they would dominate smaller divisions?

e.g. D Haye wss unified cruiserweight world chamption and now is HW world champion, is that not p4p?

ofc, sadly the HW division is so freakin awful that there is no way anyone is going to get the wins required to get on the list.

to be the best u need to beat the best.

Whilst on the subject, I would like a full explanation as to what factors are taken into account when one is compiling a pound for pound list, thanks.

Yes. Tyson, Holyfield, and Lewis were all on p4p lists.

Contrary to popular myth, the term pound-for-pound was not first used and created for Ray Robinson. A writer used it long before that to describe Bob Fitzsimmons, saying he was "the best, pound-for-pound", and I believe it was when he was fighting a HW title fight.

Even if it wasn't, whatever, a HW can still be on the list.

Not very often. It takes a heavyweight with very special skills to make it on the p4p list, that just doesn't happen much.

It obviously differs from person to person, but it's a ranking of fighters based on skills, athletic talent, and record. With all those factors, you rank fighters, based on if everyone was in the same weight class, in the order which you think they should rank.

If Manny Pacquiao was a heavyweight and kept his skill and athletic advantages he has now, he would destroy every single fighter in the division right now. Same thing with most fighters in the p4p list and in consideration. Guys like Tyson were able to be considered in that p4p sense, but how often is there a Tyson or Holyfield?

Cliff Rold, who does the boxingscene rankings, does not include heavies in his list. His list is for non-heavies. I have asked the question before and also said that Tyson and other heavies was on the ring rankings BITD.
