Explain to me what is so great about Dirrell.

I didn't say people called him great. I said what is so great about him. As in, what makes him so appealing to people. Because people seem to love this guy and make some pretty big claims for him against Froch and even AA, although that fight was a DQ.


I typically like the technical boxing guys but Dirrell freaking doesn't even engage. Floyd at least pot shots but Dirrell doesn't do a damn thing besides throw punches that hardly connect and then clinches or runs away. The guy is way unappealing to me. I don't even understand how people think he beat Froch, honestly.


I don't understand why people like him so much. Is it because he is American born?

Honestly, I look at the guy and I see nothing spectacular. He doesn't interest me in any way as a boxer. The guy is afraid to make contact in a combat sport, he avoids engaging to the point of letting his punches fall short. Then he clinches every second he gets.


Please explain to me the reason for the hype around Dirrell. I honestly can't stand the guy for some reason, he is unappealing but I would like to see why other people like him.

im not big on him TBH, but compared to his fight with Froch, i was impressed with his performance against AA

that fight against froch was embarrassing...dirrell was ****ting it all the way through didnt want to get hit and did ended up with a car crash face..

Who siad he was great?

His style is very hard to beat though.

Fast hands, heck to win a round from him you need to work your ass off and avoid the counters.

Fast feet, very few can keep up with him.

Decent power, and the speed gives him easy rounds.

He is hard to hit, partly because he is athletic, but partly because he holds.

The bad points is his holding and slipping. I don't like that, but not every fighter is perfect.

Looking at his style and athleticity, who can beat him? Only Ward for me.

there is nothing great about dirrell. breakdancing in the ring doesnt win you fights. he's got talent but thats it.

dirrell is fast and has got good hand speed like he showed against abraham

He stood toe to toe with AA most of the fight took bombs and came right back. Dropped him twice and beat his ass.

Hes a special fighter.

Great personality, and good person overrall. Thats not why he is great.

He is great because of his pure skill. Best in the division hand speed/defense. Can throw a punch at any angle. Very underated power(only guy ever to wobble, and KD Abraham in one fight), can throw mean combos. Stand right in front of you, and you cant hit him.

To top it all off, he is young, and only has 20 fights. He will continue to improve.

the froch fight showed cowardness on his part

but the aa fight showed the warrior within

hell get better as time passes by and he adjust to the game
