Wow that one hell of a list. I would definitely put Cotto higher and Sturm a lot lower but I find it hysterical that a heaveyweight "champ" only gets in at 61! Ha ha!!

what's the point of having a top 100? it defeats the purpose of calling it "pound for pound"!

I actually HATE boxrec.com unless I am trying to find when a fighters next fight is (and even then it is sometimes useless!) I swore off it for this effort. Okay, just a quick summary of my choices, Sturm's effort against De La Hoya and otherwise unblemished record made me put him up so high. At the time of the De La Hoya fight, Oscar was probably not all that far outside the top ten pound for pound fighters in the world and Felix pushed him to the brink. As for Toney being the highest heavyweight, I am going on the assumption he was only juicing for that one fight and thus beat Holyfield and Jirov and others drug free. So even without Ruiz I probably have him about those others, if the Ruiz fight had been legit he probably would have been a lot higher.

All in all its one of the most accurate p4p lists I have seen. Personally I would have De La Hoya, James Toney, Junior Witter, Sharmba Mitchell and Daniel Santos much higher and Lamon Brewster, Martin Castillo and Joe Calzaghe much lower. But its a great list.

Mitchell and Witter were two guys that I was really struggling to figure out their spot. In the end Mitchell was so low just because of how devastating his loss was to Kostya. With Witter I do not see him as being the top man at his division, so the question was really which weight classes were the deepest in my eyes, so some guys got the nod instead of him. And finally the Golden Boy, Oscar is as low as he is because I think he very well could have really lost his last three fights and he has been inactive since September, when he gets a couple wins under his belt he will jump up again.

                      That was pretty impressive.

It makes me believe that I know something about boxing when I have seen most of the people on the list fight on TV.
