You have to consider his offensive performance combined with his defensive ability. Cotto would have been a sitting duck to an active and elusive pbf. That was obvious then and even more now. cotto and his ppl knew that, hence the fight never happening during pbf's brief jww reign. Cotto is a B- fighter, and a terrible matchup style against pbf. pbf destroys prime or non-prime cotto 10/10 times easily.

you guys are ****ing fools
Mayweather was fighting a punching bag.
A "beast" only against C class opponents. I wouldn't have put any thought to it myself since Oscar De La Hoya had dominated Gatti's ass long long lonnnngggg before Mayweather did.
NOT to mention losses against Manfredy, Ward, Robinson.. guy looked like a punching bag that's it.
Mayweather's performance was nothing special.Comment

Good post! Why are you still a constant broken record about Floyd. You're so biased it's ******ed.
I simply posted it. Frankly I DON'T think Cotto was "shook" or whatever. Just find the responses interesting. But keep on with your biased pretend objectivity act, it's good for a laugh.
What's even funnier is that you are an older poster so you might remember some of the stuff said back then. And you remember that Cotto's handlers REJECTED a fight with Floyd at the time. LOL.
"After seeing Floyd’s dismantling of Gatti (chants of “easy work” coming from the Mayweather camp before the fight- remember?), the powers that be at Top Rank decided to back off the Mayweather talk and put their cash cow (Cotto) into more winnable fights. The writing was on the wall. The Mayweather fight was a chance they weren’t quite ready to take."
But hey-whatever. Let's pretend that never happened....Comment
