Kenny Bayless and Arthur Mercante Jr are the best refs imo, Joe Cortez is a shockingly bad ref

He started off fairly good i thought, and then started to just suck, maybe he should only ref 4-6round fights, or do some cardio before he does the 12 rounders, he started to slip in my opinion.

*Kept calling Andre Anthony (his brother's name).
*Let the ring side docs work on Abraham's cut
*Stopped Abraham's assault on Direll at one point because his glove was in his face

And yes, as others have pointed out before, this ref has other blunders in the ring as well. Terrible ref.
            I just remembered that...

Watch the first fight between Juan Coggi-Eder Gonzalez.

The ref was banned for life for that disgusting display.

                  Do you really think so?

He missed 1 or 2 KD's, stopped the fight for a minute to have the doc check AA's eye right after AA had landed a big left hook and he was completely out of position at the final slip.

                  Decent job? I disagree.

Boxingscene's reporter also said he was a disaster (or something along those lines).
